Head of Settlement & Global Market Operations

Redstone Legal, Risk & Compliance Search are working with an international corporate bank in Zurich who are looking to acquire a hands-on Head of Settlement & Global Market Operations to lead the 6-person team covering all aspects of derivative transactions and global markets.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Maintain beneficial connections with internal teams and external key stakeholders, be the main focal point of contact and escalation point for high priority issues and queries. Participate in approving new products and change processes.
• Train and lead your team to deliver service in-line with the team mission and the banks requirements, whilst optimising the use of recourses and available capacity.
• Ensuring accurate processing, monitoring, systems recording and lifecycle management for cash and non-cash transactions, whilst also participating in investigations with your team, this includes commodity transactions, customer/interbank payments and interest fees.
• Make sure relevant checks and controls are appropriately actioned, assure reconciliation of trades and respective cash flows between systems, whilst also managing operational risks and protecting the bank with policies and frameworks.
• Ensure accurate reports to Head of Operations.

Key Qualifications / Experience

• 8+ years’ experience working as a team leader in a well-respected bank or commodities group with a background in trading relayed support function covering both commodities and capital markets.
• Good knowledge Murex, Gresham, Avaloq experience is advantageous.
• Strong experience in payment transations.
• Fluency in English is mandatory, good level of Russian and/or German is advantageous.
• Located in Zurich, or willing to relocate to Zurich (Swiss/EU passport or valid work permit mandatory).
